Bring western Iowa close to Des Moines, move the Missouri river
I think the best way to increase western Iowa tourism would be to move the Missouri river to just west of Des Moines. Just think of all the extra people that would enjoy traveling to the west side of the state if the western border were only a few miles away. There are hundreds of thousands of people who live in Des Moines and if they could take the bus over to the river it would be a win, win for everyone. The river could also be used to raise the level of Saylerville lake allowing more people to have bigger boats.
