Business Expenses and Regulations
The cost of doing business in the United States is astronomical. From income to payroll taxes, businesses are drained by government in many different ways. One way business is affected by government is by regulation. Such as regulations that require businesses to carry workers compensation insurance in case one of their workers is hurt. Of course the intention is to take care of people, which is admirable, but often time employees take advantage of this insurance because it is much more fun to get paid for not working as compared to working. Many contracts between employers and insurance companies require the insurance company to conduct workers compensation claims investigations. Most business feels that catching fraud will help keep the cost of the insurance down.
