Hoping

He was hoping to get the position as the non-executive director for the company. He didn’t want to say in his little cubicle forever. He wanted that corner office. He had been hoping for that corner office since college, but he wanted to earn it on his own. He didn’t want anyone to think that he got the job just because the CEO was his father. He wanted them to know that he had worked for it and earned it just as they could have done. In short, he wanted the respect of those around him if he were ever to be their director.
