The internet and the rise of global futures trading
Since the introduction of the internet, it has literally transformed the way that some industries do business. I like to trade the financial markets and previously I was confined to choosing investment vehicles that are traded on the local exchange. With the introduction of online brokerage accounts I can now gain access to overseas markets with relative ease. This has opened up many new opportunities that were previously unavailable. Global futures trading is a prime example of my new focus that has come about due to the access to foreign markets provided by the internet. The cost of commissions and data has really come down and this is a definite benefit for traders at all levels.
