Christmas

Friday, November 21st, 2008

It is only 35 days to Christmas and I haven’t even started my Christmas shopping yet. I think I will do most of it online as you can get things gift wrapped at many places.

I need to buy a toy for my grandchild and I am thinking I might buy Elmo the new Muppet toy from Sesame Street. He is pretty cute! He seems quite real as he moves about on his own, sits on a little chair and even crosses his leg! He talks too and sings. I am not sure if it would get boring though. Maybe kids are better off making up their own play as we did with toys that couldn’t talk and move on their own.

Interesting Points About Chocolates Truffles

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

For a lot of people, a life without chocolate truffles would be completely unbearable. One can’t imagine a holiday that doesn’t in some form involve this delicious food. When it comes to selecting a present for that unique someone, viewing a loved one tear open a container of chewy morsels is always a fulfilling experience.  Once the box of chocolates is opened, it becomes quite tough for anyone to refrain from sticking their hand in for a taste as the smell of enticing candy fills the room.Ever since the first people known to enjoy chocolate began making it over 2000 years ago in Central America, people have regarded the candy with an air of importance. Through the centuries, chocolate gifts have been used when a bribe was required, a treat desired, or simply to savor the feelings of comfort. One of the components of chocolate truffles that makes the experience so wonderful is the addictive qualities associated with chocolate. What’s quite fascinating is that one of the elements is the same substance that brings a high to those utilizing marijuana. The enticing candy includes cannabinoids, although in a far lower quantity than that in marijuana. However, when you combine substances such as caffeine, tyramine, and tryptophan, the brain is inundated with serotonin and the feelings of comfort are felt

Brides Loving Lace

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

There seems to be a gazillion tons of rules about the wearing of Lace Garters as a bride on our big day.I am not too sure when the tradition first came about but I believe it started in the Fifteen Hundreds. The bride would have two garters, both on the right leg at the top. The first was as a keepsake, and the other was thrown by the groom to the single chaps in the room. The same as the bride tossing the bouquet to the single ladies. The single fella, then puts the garter round the thigh of the single female who caught the bouquet.NB - He used to have take it off with his teeth!Fascintating

How About a Cuddly Sweater for Your Doggy?

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

One of the best ways to make your dog even more cuddly than usual is to attire him in one of the many dog sweaters and sweatshirts on the market today. Put one of these soft sweaters on your dog and give him a big old hug. He’ll feel so gentle and huggable you won’t want to put him down. Maybe a sweatshirt with a team name on it would make your dog feel very sporty. Just be sure the team’s name is on the back so everyone will be able to see the team your dog is supporting when he has his sweatshirt on. With the name in front, it won’t be very visible most of the time and the whole idea would be wasted. Quite possibly a matching hat would set your pup off from the crowd too. Even a poncho style sweater would look great on the little guy. Yes, probably only the little guys will want to wear a sweater or sweatshirt. Those big guys all think they’re too macho to wear doggy clothes.

Now More Than Ever We Should Support Fundraising For Good Causes

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

There are many fundraising groups around th country who support various important causes to help those who are less well off or have specific needs. These fundraisers do a wonderful job and can change people’s lives for the better.

Unfortunately, as we are all too aware, there is an economic crisis at the moment and many of the people who previously supported these good causes are struggling to meet their own needs.

Thgis makes it more important than ever that those people who can help offer their money or their time to support fundraising for good causes to ensure that even the most vulnerable in our society get the help they need.

Books alone may not save a marriage

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

I have been reading several articles on the internet about relationships and marriage.  I am not doing this because my marriage is in serious trouble but I am doing it because I am curious if you really can save marriage by reading what to do.  What I am finding is that there is a lot of good advise to be had if one is willing to look for it.  From what I have found I believe they would be a good starting off place to fix a marriage.  I think it would be difficult to do with just the book alone and not other help.

Educational Software Kids For Myra

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

Genuine purpose and affordability are two usual factors which could determine whether a product or service would be received well by the general public or not.  The educational software sets available today for all school students have those above factors.  It is no surprise then that educational software sets are selling very well. Like what we have for our daughter Myra, educational software kids edition is the top-selling kind.  Kids always want to learn the lessons in more interesting ways as possible.  For those who still don’t have one, kids can ask their parents to buy them a set or two for faster and more efficient learning.

Purpose of Interior Design

Monday, November 17th, 2008

Every design decision should be considered as an opportunity, not a problem.  This is not an easy dictate to follow when your home is in chaos, your partner is asking for the millionth time when it will be over and when every item of clothing you own is covered in a thick layer of dust.  However, if you can keep a positive attitude, decorating will once again become the pleasurable process it should be.  It is so very easy to lose sight of the purpose of interior design and for the whole process to become a huge worry.  Does the carpet go with the sofa, what sort of lighting will work best, and will the new carpet wear well?  Mistakes are likely to be expensive or at the very least embarrassing, and rather than failing, many people choose the less-than-exciting option or make no decision at all.

we chose a wall mount

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

The whole trip to our new home, I talked about the decorating I wanted to do inside and around our new home.  My husband focused on the yard, and I thought of the little details to create a welcoming look to our home.  I have already picked out the type of wall mount mailboxes I think will be a finishing touch to our home.  I know my husband says he doesn’t care, but when he sees what I have done, he always applauds my taste and my choices.  The mailbox will be a blending of who we are, separately and together, just as our home is,

Having Fun With Small Bathroom Makeovers

Saturday, November 15th, 2008

I know all to well that bathroom makeovers is a long and tedious process. Our small bathroom makeovers was supposed to last just a few short weeks, but was stretched into a few short months because of poor planning. Getting the right plans at the right time for the right price is priceless to me. But don’t get my wrong. Doing your own bathroom renovations has its perks as well. We did not have to worry about scheduling contractors, or worrying about when they would arrive. This in itself saved a lot of time and money from out end. If we were to do it again, I would just spend more time planning and less time thinking about the toilet seat shape.

a perfect funky choice

Saturday, November 15th, 2008

My sister has always had an unusual sense of humor - even more than ours.  I finally decided she needed to get a funky kitchen wall clock to match her humor with her decor.  My husband and I looked for quite a long time to find the perfect one, always falling short of finding one that would perfectly meet her humor.  We had a lot of laughs, both at the jokes and the clocks at times.  One day we were on line and found one that we thought was perfect for her.  Now to wait for a time to present it to her.  The time came, and the choice was perfect!

I Have Great Neighbors

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

My neighbors had a garage sale yesterday and I decided to stop by and check it out. Since we’re neighbors and good friends they told me I could get whatever I wanted half price off. I found a great and modern coffee tables that greatly compliments my sofas and it was only $10 which meant I could get it for $5. I knew I wouldn’t ever find such a great deal so I decided to take it home. My neighbor was nice enough to bring it all the way to my living room, right where I wanted it to be.

Want To Keep It Affordable

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

I have three bathrooms in my home, and I am stuck with the worry of how I am going to get them all remodeled without spending an arm and a leg.  I really would like to redo everything, including the floors and repainting the walls.  I have been looking for some affordable shower inserts and sinks, without feeling like I cannot have what appeals to me.  I want these rooms to be comfortable and attractive, without breaking the bank.  Where would be a good place for me to find some stuff that will fit my budget?  I am ready to get this started.
