Cause of Acid Reflux

Many people of all ages suffer from acid reflux but this mainly affects adults.  The cause of acid reflux is when stomach acid comes back up into the esophagus and this will cause minor to severe discomfort.  Often it may even come back up the throat into the mouth but in some cases this will not happen.  The symptoms of acid reflux are when your chest burns (more commonly known as heartburn), hiccups, nausea and many other symptoms.  Those suffering from asthma are more susceptible to the acid reflux disease.  Should you think you are suffering from acid reflux then you will need to consider another condition called GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease).
