floaters in the eye
Dark tiny spots, cob webs, or shadows moving in front of your eyes are called floaters in the eye. Floaters in the eye occur more commonly with age. They occur when strands or clumps of tissue appear in the gel like structure of the eye called the vitreous. The shadows from these tissues cause the floaters in the eye. The movement of floaters occurs with the movement of the eye. Tasks such as lifting heavy things can also cause floaters in the eye. The increased pressure in the eye may cause a blood vessel to break. The blood in the vitreous causes floaters.
