A toe nail fungus is a fungal infection of the nail that is often hard to treat and the recurrence rate is very high. The use of lasers to destroy the fungus is new. One treatment is needed and this can cost up to $1000 and is not covered by insurance. Some remarkable claims have been made for this treatment. Only one very small uncontrolled study has so far been done and it appears to show that it works. Despite this poor research it is being widely used.
