The Effects of Alcoholism
The effects of alcoholism can come in a few different categories. First you have the effects on the individual. This would be things such as loss of job, ruined relationships, and so on.
Then you have the effects of alcoholism on the family. This is quite devastating and can actually breed more alcoholics down the road. Having an alcoholic in the immediate family can become a huge challenge for everyone involved.
Finally you have the effects on society. This would be things like the annual cost of drunk driving or the lost productivity from people missing work due to drinking. All of these costs are negative of course and show the true price we pay for alcoholism.
