What are the types of electricity suppliers?

The nation’s economy depends on electricity suppliers. These utilities companies supply entire territories with electricity mainly derived from burning oil, coal or by harnessing the potential energy of flowing water. Electricity suppliers have huge generators that turn out hundreds of megawatts of power. These huge engines are as big as a house and weigh as much as a hundred tons. The electric power that is supplied by utilities is distributed to consumers by way of power cables. The main power cables that are connected directly to power plants are strung on huge towers called pylons and the voltage that flow in main lines are a hundred times bigger than household voltages. Some electricity suppliers produce power using green energy such as solar and wind power and are getting more popular each day. When green power electricity suppliers become mainstream, the cost of power they generate will become cheaper and will someday power most of our homes and offices.
